The #kuliglig. "Kuligligs" play a big part in Divisoria's ecosystem. The improvised #tricycle has a variety of sizes. It #transports people at the same time #cargo.

"Originally, the kuliglig was the motorized tractor used in rice paddies. Farmers would attached a cart on the motor and use it to transport people and produce. It is called kuliglig because it is shaped like the cricket, or kuliglig. Some say it is called kuliglig because of the noise it makes.

In towns and cities, the kuliglig has been transformed. Operators would strap to the sidecar a motor engine originally meant for a canoe-like boat with outriggers on both sides – hence the name “tricyboat” – turning it into a veritable tricycle. Enterprising Filipinos created this version of the kuliglig because it is supposedly cheaper to make compared to an actual motorcycle." - Carlos H. Conde,http://asiancorrespondent.com/43389/the-politics-of-‘kuliglig’/
